Everyday super sports car with 782 hp
In the new Bentley Continental GT Speed, pure power meets intelligent technology in the 21-year tradition of this model series: a 4.0-liter V8 petrol engine works together with a 190 hp electric motor to deliver an impressive system output of 782 hp and a maximum torque of 1,000 Nm. This enables acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.2 s – and with high efficiency at the same time: The purely electric range of 81 km (according to the EU driving cycle) and a total range of 859 km make the GT Speed a super sports car with high everyday usability. The innovative 400-volt electric architecture enables the most advanced drive technology Bentley has ever installed. 19 percent more power than the previous model ensures increased dynamics. The 8-speed dual-clutch transmission, the electronically controlled limited slip differential and an injection pressure of 350 bar transfer the power precisely to all four wheels. The 25.9 kWh battery is positioned behind the rear axle, which enables almost perfect weight distribution. Up to 85 percent of the battery capacity can be used while driving. The intelligent energy management adapts flexibly to the driving style and the selected driving mode: from pure electric drive to electric boost, recuperation during braking, and charging mode, in which the combustion engine simultaneously powers the wheels and charges the battery – a smart move for maximum range and efficiency. The intelligent drive is complemented by a state-of-the-art chassis system: new dual-chamber air springs, twin-valve shock absorbers, the active Bentley Dynamic Ride system with 48-volt roll stabilization, torque vectoring, and the mentioned electronically controlled limited slip differential ensure a unique driving experience, whether sporty and agile or quiet and luxurious.
The new look
The new generation presents itself with a bold, completely new appearance and is intended to be reminiscent of a resting tiger (ready to pounce). Particularly striking is the (re)introduction of single headlights, heralding a design revolution for Bentley. A full 68 percent of the components have been newly developed compared to the predecessor – a quantum leap in technology and style. In the interior, Bentley focuses on pure sophistication and innovation. The four-seater offers front seats with wellness technology, a new air ionization system, exclusive three-dimensional leather, unique stitching, and a new dark chrome finish. The new electric architecture also enables the integration of the latest technologies and the use of the My Bentley App Studio, providing unparalleled user experience in the luxury segment. With the remote-controlled parking assistant, customers can even park and park out their vehicle using their cell phone.
A record-breaking drive and a stylish appearance
The new Bentley Continental GT Speed has not only made history on the road, but also underground: In the Ryfylke Tunnel in the Norwegian county of Rogaland (14.4 km long and 292 meters below sea level), the deepest undersea road tunnel in the world, the GT set an unofficial “underwater speed record” of 335 km/h. The model is available both as a Coupé and as a Convertible. For the first time in the history of the Continental model series, both variants are celebrating their premiere at the same time. Underlining this powerful market launch, Bentley is also making a visual statement: the new GT Speed is available in exclusive Tourmaline Green – a modern, vibrant reinterpretation of the legendary Bentley green. As usual, the new GT Speed is handcrafted at the Bentley factory in Crewe. A virtually unlimited number of customization options are also available via the Mulliner customization department.
