BMW continues its pursuit of excellence in the field of mid and high-end cars with the release this winter of two new, revised models: the BMW M4 Coupe and the BMW M4 Cabrio. A spotlight on these two emblematic cars that are getting a makeover. While the identity of the M4 model is recognizable at first glance, the two models, M4 Coupe and M4 Cabrio, hide numerous improvements. In its constant quest for excellence, the German brand innovates once again with the development of these two cars, both in terms of design and power, as well as digital innovations and many new customizable options. Two models are getting a makeover and the year 2024 is full of innovations and performances for BMW, which continues to attract a significant audience as the brand representatives explain, "Thanks to the current modifications, the high-performance automobiles of the mid to high-end segment have all the ideal conditions to maintain their popularity in international automotive markets while strengthening their leadership position in the segment. Both globally and in each of their respective markets, the BMW M4 series models far outpace the market leader position in each of their competitive environments." A success that is expected to increase with the release of these two revised models in 2024, appealing to motor racing enthusiasts, but also lovers of design and sophistication.

Motorsport Technology
They boast a sporty, aggressive look that matches their performance, marking a new milestone in BMW development. The M4 Coupe and M4 Cabrio demonstrate boldness with their six-cylinder engine, equipped with M TwinPower Turbo technology, available in three power levels. The first variant, capable of reaching 353 km/h, remains unprecedented in its competitive environment, placing the BMW engine at the forefront against its competitors. Equipped with technology applied in the field of motorsports, the six-cylinder engine present in the two new models of the brand combines the characteristics inherent to BMW M GmbH engines and M TwinPower Turbo technology for unprecedented dynamism, both on the road and on the track. Designed as sports vehicles, the M4 Cabrio and M4 Coupe thus have the same elements found in cars intended for circuit racing: a rigid sump, lightweight crankshaft, iron coating, optimized coolant routing, all contributing to a lighter total weight, and better management of the car's temperature. As mentioned earlier, three power levels are available on both models. The highest marks a real leap forward for the brand. Previously limited to 375 km/h for 510 horsepower, the maximum power now reaches 390 km/h for 530 horsepower. This improvement results from the engineers' work on the engine control system, which then serves to provide the most dynamic driving experience. Also noteworthy is the impressive acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.5 seconds of the BMW M4 Competition Coupe with M xDrive. Remarkable improvements that enhance the driving experience, finding a balance between aggression and smoothness as explained to the press, "The most powerful version of the inline six-cylinder engine is paired with the intelligent all-wheel drive M xDrive. This gives the new BMW M4 Coupe and the BMW M4 Cabriolet, equipped with M xDrive, exceptional traction. This attribute is particularly evident in their impressive acceleration figures. Thanks to a rear-wheel-biased system and in conjunction with a fully variable Active M differential in the rear-wheel transmission, the M xDrive system also enhances that typical M model feeling in dynamic corners. Through the setup menu, the driver can select, in addition to the default 4WD setting, the 4WD Sport mode, in which a greater percentage of torque is directed towards the rear axle." BMW thus makes possible the dream of a circuit-worthy drive-in everyday life, with both production models adapting to all types of terrains and driving styles.

A Redesigned Detail-Oriented Design
The overall appearance of the M4 Coupe and the M4 Cabrio remains the same. It's in the details that one must look for the new features, discreet though they may be, but whose impact on the overall look of the car is noteworthy. The headlights are the first element to transform. More geometric in shape, they give the front of the car a more contemporary style and a feel that's in tune with the times. Beyond their general structure, the interior has also been modified to accommodate new functionalities, notably in the low-beam and high-beam lights powered by the same LED module. A design aimed at improving road lighting, which also enhances the vehicle's look along the way. Still, on the exterior of the car, the rims have also been redesigned. Made of a lighter alloy than in the past, they contribute to the car's dynamics and give it a sophisticated character in the silver finish. The taillights, meanwhile, are designed to echo the front headlights, incorporating a three-dimensional character also made of LEDs in their design. The interior of the car has also been remodeled, once again to place the M4 Coupe and M4 Cabrio in the contemporary period while maintaining a clear visual link to racing models. "The modern motorsport ambiance inside the new versions of the high-performance models has also been developed. New steering wheel designs and control elements, as well as premium materials for the dashboard and interior trim, enhance the exclusive atmosphere inside the specific M sports car cockpits," was explained to the press last January. For the driver, the dynamic and sporty sensations of the two models, conferred by their engine and appearance, are thus further reinforced by a steering wheel worthy of the most sophisticated racing cars.

With modified spokes, added graphical elements, and increased comfort with the heating option, the future drivers of these two cars will feel like they are on the world's greatest circuits. However, this sporty character does not detract from the elegance and luxury of the M range models. BMW has selected premium materials, combining the leather of the seats with anthracite aluminum elements, giving the models an elegant look offset by subtle references to motorsport. For lovers of circuits and sensations, bucket seats are available as an option. Options that are numerous on these two cars allow for extensive customization, both inside and outside of the M4 Coupe and Cabrio.
