More desire for small series

At this year's Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este 2025 on Lake Como, the BMW Group presented a new concept car: the BMW Concept Speedtop. The vehicle is a modern take on the sporty touring car, blending the sleek lines of a shooting brake with a confident, powerful presence. It is inspired by last year's BMW Skytop and stands out thanks to its striking profile with a shark-nose front and clear design language. The small series of the Speedtop is limited to 70 units and can be ordered immediately. The two-seater is designed primarily for collectors and enthusiasts with a passion for rare and exclusive vehicles. “Last year, the presentation of the BMW Concept Skytop at the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este on Lake Como generated great enthusiasm among connoisseurs and automotive enthusiasts,” explained Bernd Körber, Senior Vice President BMW Brand and Product Management. “Thanks to this positive response, this year we have decided to also offer the BMW Concept Speedtop in a limited production series of 70 units. This extraordinary vehicle is now available for order. We are pleased to be able to offer collectors and enthusiasts another exclusive model.” The elegant exterior of the BMW Concept Speedtop also conceals powerful technology: the vehicle features the most powerful V8 engine in BMW’s current lineup, delivering exceptional performance and dynamic driving characteristics.

Attention to detail – both inside and out

The BMW Concept Speedtop focuses on the interplay of form, color, and details. On the exterior, clean lines and distinctive elements highlight the vehicle’s sporty yet elegant character. The sharknose front, paired with slim headlights and an illuminated BMW kidney grille, lends the model a bold and confident presence. A standout feature is the roof’s subtle color gradient, which transitions from Floating Sunstone Maroon to Floating Sundown Silver, emphasizing the flowing silhouette. The integrated roof spoiler and the wide shoulder section reinforce the dynamic touring profile, while the specially developed, two-tone 14-spoke fan-shaped wheels complete the appearance. “A true BMW exudes dynamism and elegance even when it’s standing still,” says Adrian van Hooydonk, Head of BMW Group Design. “And that’s also the case with our new concept car. The BMW Concept Speedtop is characterized first of all by its profile. It is very unique in the automotive industry. In this way, we have created an exclamation mark for our entire lineup of vehicles, especially for the Touring models.”

The attention to detail also continues in the interior: high-quality materials and a brogue-style finish reflect the quality of the craftsmanship. In terms of color, the interior echoes the exterior paintwork: the combination of Sundown Maroon and Moonstone White provides an elegant yet functional contrast. The two-tone headliner with integrated light beam creates a subtle and pleasant atmosphere. The trunk is also crafted to a high standard, featuring a leather cover with brogue-style perforated pattern, and integrated ambient lighting for added practicality. The well-designed layout also allows for the convenient transport of larger luggage items.

Desired exclusivity

In collaboration with the Italian leather manufacturer Schedoni, custom-made bags were developed especially for the Speedtop, which blend harmoniously into the color and material concept. The two bags are secured behind the seats using leather straps. A coordinating weekender bag for the trunk is also available, designed to seamlessly complement the overall aesthetic. The BMW Concept Speedtop is manufactured with a special focus on craftsmanship and precision at the BMW Group plant in Dingolfing. There, both exterior and interior are crafted with meticulous care and attention to detail, reflecting a true manufactory approach. Following the success of the BMW Skytop from the previous year, which was realized in a limited series of 50 units, the Concept Speedtop is now appearing in a strictly limited edition of just 70 vehicles, as mentioned. This keeps the model wonderfully exclusive.
