The new 2+ coupé for sporty drivers: The Ferrari Amalfi

Published 3 July 2025

Performance, versatility, and refined Italian aesthetics

The Ferrari Amalfi is the new 2+ coupé with a front mid-engine layout, succeeding the Ferrari Roma. It combines elegance, performance, and everyday usability in a modern reinterpretation of the grand tourer concept. With its sculptural, minimalist design and clear lines, the Amalfi embodies contemporary Ferrari sportiness. It is designed for drivers who demand a pure driving experience without compromising on style or comfort. Powered by a 3.9-liter twin-turbo V8 engine from the F154 family, it delivers a maximum output of 471 kW (640 PS) at 7,500 rpm. Torque is transmitted via an 8-speed dual-clutch transmission. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h takes 3.3 s, and from 0 to 200 km/h only 9.0 s. The engine features a flat-plane crankshaft, twin-scroll turbochargers with independently calibrated units, and turbo management with pressure sensors per cylinder bank. Turbos reach up to 171,000 rpm. Emissions are controlled by ceramic matrix catalytic converters with trimetallic coating (rhodium, platinum, palladium). The exhaust system includes a bypass valve, maintaining noise levels within legal limits. For driving dynamics, the Amalfi uses a brake-by-wire system that shortens pedal travel, enhances brake modulation, and improves stability even with ABS active. The ABS Evo system is adapted for different driving modes and surfaces, using data from a 6D sensor to precisely estimate vehicle speed and brake force distribution. The SSC 6.1 system (Side Slip Control) manages steering, torque distribution, and vertical movements. An integrated grip estimation system in the electric power steering analyzes tire adhesion in real time. Active aerodynamics include a rear spoiler with three automatically controlled positions (Low Drag, Medium Downforce, High Downforce), generating up to 110 kg of downforce at 250 km/h. Additional aerodynamic features such as underbody panels, front vortex generators, splitter diffusers, and a newly developed rear diffuser contribute to overall efficiency.

Minimalism for discerning users

The exterior design of the Ferrari Amalfi follows a clear, modern language with flowing lines and minimalist surfaces. The body is conceived as a monolithic “Speedform”: a sculptural unit with geometric volumes and wedge-shaped flanks. The front forgoes the traditional grille in favor of a floating painted wing above a recessed dark band. Splitters, integrated sensors, and flush-mounted headlights emphasize width and create visual calm. The long hood and prominent central air intake define the side profile, while the rear features a continuous character line and a compact design. Taillights are discreetly integrated, the functional diffuser and active rear spoiler blend precisely into the overall appearance. The rear window seamlessly merges with the spoiler element. This reinterpretation of the 2+ coupé Berlinetta concept bridges classic proportions with modern aerodynamic and technological requirements. Design elements draw inspiration from the Ferrari Roma and redefine them. Forged wheels and carbon accents complement the overall look. The presentation color, a vivid blue-green named “Verde Costiera”, references the model’s namesake region. The vehicle is also equipped with 20-inch wheels that maintain the design’s harmonious proportions without compromising ride comfort. Tire sizes are 245/35 R20 at the front and 285/35 R20 at the rear, providing a balanced mix of agility, traction, and comfort. Tires are standard Bridgestone Potenza Sport and Pirelli P ZERO, developed in collaboration with these technology partners.

Everyday usability and advanced technology

The Ferrari Amalfi’s interior focuses on a driver-centered overall concept. The newly designed dual cockpit visually and functionally separates driver and passenger areas with a deliberately symmetrical yet differentiated design. Controls are handled via a redesigned steering wheel with physical buttons and the aluminum start button. Interaction is further supported by three clearly structured displays: a 15.6-inch instrument cluster, a 10.25-inch central display, and an 8.8-inch passenger-side screen. A Ferrari first: the dashboard is executed as a monolithic element. The anodized aluminum central tunnel appears to float and integrates the gear selector gate, key slot, controls, and an inductive charging pad. Premium materials such as exposed carbon fiber, perforated aluminum speaker covers, and contrast stitching underline the ambiance. The “Verde Bellagio” color scheme adds targeted accents to the front cabin area. The vehicle is fully connected and comes standard with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Comfort features contain optional ventilated seats with massage functions, a Burmester premium audio system, and a front lifter system. Rear seats are temporarily usable, for example for children or luggage. The expanded cargo volume supports the everyday practicality of the 2+ layout. The latest-generation driver assistance systems are fully integrated into the vehicle’s architecture. These include Adaptive Cruise Control, Automatic Emergency Braking, Lane Keeping Assist, and fatigue detection. All systems are individually configurable and adjustable via the central instrument menu.
