Entirely Italian!
With the launch of the Lamborghini Temerario GT3, the brand opened a bold new chapter in international motorsport. Based on the road-going Temerario, this is the first GT3 vehicle to be entirely designed, developed and built at Lamborghini’s headquarters in Sant’Agata Bolognese – a testament to technical excellence “Made in Italy.” The car was unveiled in mid-July 2025 in Sant’Agata Bolognese and at Goodwood, with its first major race appearance scheduled for March 2026 at the legendary 12 Hours of Sebring in Florida. Conceived as a competition vehicle from the outset, the Temerario GT3 embodies the full expertise of Lamborghini Squadra Corse – enriched by the experience of more than 200 Huracán GT3 units sold and 96 championship titles won across the globe. The aim was to create a car that not only delivers outstanding performance but also sets new standards in maintainability, handling, and usability in race conditions. The project has received vital input and support from Lamborghini factory drivers Marco Mapelli and Andrea Caldarelli. With the Temerario GT3, Lamborghini strengthens its position in the international GT3 segment and reaffirms its commitment to supporting customer teams – both those preparing to compete with the new Temerario GT3 and those continuing with the Huracán GT3 during the transition phase.

Engineering in perfect harmony
Every element of the Lamborghini Temerario GT3 was purpose-built for racing – particularly the drivetrain, chassis, aerodynamics, and suspension. At its core is a heavily revised 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8, tailored to meet GT3 regulations. Instead of the 800 PS delivered by the production engine, the GT3 version generates approximately 550 PS – but revs up to 10,000 rpm and offers a broad, usable power band. A flat-plane crankshaft and titanium connecting rods reduce rotating mass, optimize airflow, and contribute to a distinctive racing sound. Combined with a newly developed six-speed gearbox, a redesigned airbox, and a custom exhaust system by Capristo, the powertrain delivers uncompromising performance on the track. The foundation is a lightweight aluminum spaceframe derived from the production model but optimized for racing, paired with a FIA GT3-compliant roll cage. Both front and rear subframes have been reengineered, eliminating all unnecessary mounts from the hybrid road version to save weight. The fuel system has also been redesigned to feature a high-flow setup and a new sensor for precise fuel management. The all-new carbon fiber bodywork was developed in collaboration between Lamborghini Centro Stile and Squadra Corse. Thanks to its modular design and quick-release fasteners, components can be removed and replaced rapidly – a critical advantage during races. Aerodynamic elements were finely tuned for optimal performance, balancing downforce, drag, cooling, and stability. The four-part underbody allows targeted intervention, especially during pit stops using air jacks. Thermomanagement was another development focus, ensuring consistent temperatures for the engine, turbochargers, and brakes. The suspension benefits from a longer wheelbase and wider track, significantly enhancing cornering stability. New six-way adjustable KW dampers, also used in the SC63 LMDh race car, ensure precise handling. The suspension system has been redesigned for quick changes, allowing teams to adapt setup parameters more efficiently during practice sessions. A custom-designed hydraulic rack-and-pinion steering system is optimized for compatibility with all leading tire manufacturers, while 18-inch wheels by Ronal AG guarantee uncompromising racing performance.

Form follows function
Inside the Lamborghini Temerario GT3, function dictates form. Every detail is meticulously tailored to meet the demands of professional racing. The cockpit’s ergonomics have been refined to ensure that all controls are within optimal reach and that every interface supports maximum efficiency. Thanks to input from factory drivers Mapelli and Caldarelli, a bespoke racing steering wheel has been developed to deliver unmatched precision and intuitive control. The entire electronics architecture has been updated, including a bespoke software suite designed to give drivers maximum control and feedback in every situation. A newly designed gearshift system, enhanced display graphics, and an advanced data logging system provide all relevant information at a glance. Clear, immediate, and tailored to racing needs! With this level of refinement, the Temerario GT3 sets new benchmarks for cockpit performance and usability.
