The Urus SE. Lamborghini Continues to Revolutionize the SUV World

Published 25 April 2024

Lamborghini is writing a new chapter in its history with the launch of its first rechargeable electric SUV, the Urus SE. It was a minor revolution in the world of the Lamborghini brand that took place at the Beijing International Auto Show on April 24th. The Italian house unveiled to the public its latest creation, the Urus SE. This latest model designed by the brand stands out for its fully electric nature, making it the first rechargeable version of the brand's Super SUV in this sustainability-focused category. "In just a few years, the Urus has become the best-seller of our brand, allowing Lamborghini to attract new customers and strengthen its position in the most important markets. With the Urus SE, we have taken a step further into the future, in line with our Direzione Cor Tauri strategy, by continuing the electrification of the range and the path to decarbonization that began with the introduction of the super sports car Revuelto in March 2023," stated Stephan Winkelmann, President and CEO of Lamborghini, during the press conference at the Chinese event.

This decarbonization, which achieves an 80% reduction in emissions, does not detract from the performance for which the brand is famous. Indeed, the Turbo V8 engine has been completely redesigned to work in synergy with the electric powertrain. The result? A power output of 620 horsepower (456 kW) and 800 Nm of torque. "To deliver maximum power, emphasis was placed on the calibration strategy between the ICE and the electric motor, reaching a total power of 800 CV to ensure an optimal power curve in every driving mode and on every surface," the brand specifies. Eager to continue a lineage that has seen great success in recent years, Lamborghini also focuses on design combined with an optimal driving experience. Already known for having revolutionized SUV aesthetics, the brand pushes further in redefining the lines of the electric model, which boasts a muscular aesthetic served by dynamic and sporty shapes.

Its almost futuristic character is further enhanced by the new LED units whose shape was directly inspired by the brand's symbol, the bull. "The design and proportions of the Urus remain unparalleled and recognizable as Lamborghini. At the same time, the Urus SE offers a very sophisticated evolution, consistent with our new philosophy of iconic and essential design, and offering above all a heightened sense of luxury and greater Ad Personam potential," added Mitja Borkert, Director of Design at Lamborghini. Writing a new chapter that promises to attract a large clientele.
