Lexus NX 2027: New hybrid SUV with 307 PS and an electric range of over 100 km

Lexus is giving its successful SUV a comprehensive update. The new Lexus NX 2027 is far more than a classic facelift. For the new model year, the Japanese premium automaker has specifically refined the powertrain, chassis, comfort, interior, and digital technologies. Lexus is taking a significant step forward, particularly in the area of electrification. The new NX model lineup is entirely based on electrified powertrains and includes the NX 350h as a full hybrid and the NX 450h+ as a plug-in hybrid. With this, Lexus aims to align its SUV even more closely with the demands of the coming years—without compromising on comfort, quality, or the characteristic Lexus philosophy. Lexus NX 2027: A More Modern and Distinctive Design At first glance, the new Lexus NX remains true to its familiar silhouette. The SUV’s proportions have not been fundamentally altered. However, numerous details give the model a more modern and dynamic appearance. Particularly striking is the new front end with the frameless, spindle-shaped Lexus grille. The headlights have also been redesigned, giving the NX a more distinctive look. At the rear, the SUV features a new lighting signature. The signature Lexus “L” motif is more prominently highlighted, creating an unmistakable look. The new NX thus remains clearly recognizable as a Lexus, yet appears more modern and confident at the same time. New Colors and a Sportier Look Lexus is expanding the selection to a total of nine exterior colors. New additions—or particularly noteworthy ones—include Sonic Platinum, Sonic Tellus, and Titanium Carbide Grey. The latter color is reserved for the NX F SPORT. Chrome accents have also been largely replaced by darker elements. This gives the vehicle an overall more cohesive and sporty appearance. On the NX F SPORT, this character is further emphasized by black design elements, 20-inch double-spoke wheels, and red brake calipers.

One of the biggest changes is taking place in the interior. The dashboard features a new, more horizontally oriented design. This is intended to make the interior feel more spacious while also making it easier to operate. At the center is a new 14-inch multimedia touchscreen. This is complemented by a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster behind the steering wheel. The most important displays are positioned as close as possible along a common line of sight. This is intended to minimize the need for the driver to take their eyes off the road. The center console has also been redesigned and appears more uncluttered. Lexus NX 2027: Technology Meets Comfort Lexus isn’t limiting its digitalization efforts to larger screens. With the Lexus Sensory Concierge, the manufacturer is introducing a system that combines various elements of the interior. Depending on the selected setting, the following—among other things—can be coordinated: -Ambient lighting -Music -Climate control -Seat temperature -Interior fragrance Three different atmospheres are available: Inspire, Radiance, and Revitalize. A total of up to 50 different lighting colors are possible. The fragrances were developed in collaboration with the renowned fragrance manufacturer Givaudan. Lexus is taking an interesting approach here: “premium” should not be defined solely by materials and features, but also by the personal experience inside the vehicle.

In Europe, the new Lexus NX will be available in four trim levels: Even the base model comes equipped with, among other features, the new all-weather headlights, power-adjustable and heated front seats, a heated power-adjustable steering wheel, a power tailgate, the 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, and the 14-inch multimedia screen. -Business -Comfort -Excellence -F SPORT Depending on the trim level, additional features may include a panoramic roof, a Mark Levinson sound system with 17 speakers, a head-up display, or the Sensory Concierge. Lexus NX 450h+ 2027: 307 PS and over 100 kilometers on electric power The updates to the Lexus NX 450h+ are particularly extensive. The plug-in hybrid will receive a new lithium-ion battery. The capacity increases from 18 to 23 kWh. At the same time, system output increases to 307 PS. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h is expected to take 6.1 seconds. However, the electric range is likely to be even more important to many customers. Lexus Switzerland cites a preliminary WLTP range of more than 100 kilometers in all-electric mode. This represents an increase in electric range of about 40 percent compared to the previous model. The First Lexus Plug-in Hybrid with DC Fast Charging Another important new feature is the ability to fast-charge the NX 450h+ with direct current (DC) as standard. Lexus states that charging from 10 to 80 percent takes approximately 30 minutes. This makes the plug-in hybrid significantly more flexible. Drivers who can charge regularly should be able to cover a larger portion of their daily trips in electric mode, while the internal combustion engine continues to ensure long-range capability. The NX 450h+ also features a new 1.5-kW AC power outlet, which allows the vehicle to be used as a mobile power source.

The Lexus NX 350h has also undergone technical upgrades. It features the sixth generation of the Lexus hybrid system as well as a new lithium-ion battery. The system’s output is 199 PS. Of particular interest is the reduction in the battery’s weight. Its weight drops from 32.7 to 23.5 kilograms. At the same time, Lexus is improving driving performance. About 20 percent less noise in the cabin Lexus places particular emphasis on acoustic comfort in the new NX. According to the manufacturer, engine and road noise have been reduced by a total of about 20 percent. Additional sound-deadening materials have been added to areas such as the rear bulkhead, the tailgate, and the B-pillars. The hybrid system’s control logic has also been optimized to reduce vibrations when the internal combustion engine starts and during transitions between electric and internal combustion drive modes. The result is said to be an even quieter and more relaxed cabin.
