The Winner Writes History: The McLaren 750S Le Mans Special Edition

Published 5 June 2025

A Reason to Celebrate

To mark the 30th anniversary of one of the most legendary moments in motorsport history, McLaren is launching an exclusive special edition: the 750S Le Mans. On June 18, 2025, McLaren will celebrate the anniversary of its first overall Le Mans victory, achieved in 1995 by JJ Lehto, Yannick Dalmas, and Masanori Sekiya in the iconic McLaren F1 GTR #59 during the 24 Hours of Le Mans. McLaren is commemorating this occasion with a supercar limited to just 50 units. At the same time, McLaren announced that the 750S GT3 EVO will compete at Le Mans in 2025 and that the brand will return to the Hypercar class starting in 2027. “The 750S Le Mans marks not just 30 years since our debut victory in the iconic race but an exciting time for the brand with McLaren GT3 EVO cars competing in this year’s race and the announcement of our return to the top, Hypercar class in 2027,” said Henrik Wilhelmsmeyer, Chief Commercial Officer of McLaren Automotive. “This exclusive 750S is the first McLaren Le Mans edition since the F1 LM to feature HDK aerodynamic enhancements and is set to become one of our most sought-after supercars, with previous Le Mans editions of the 650S and 720S commanding a premium over standard models.” The 750S Le Mans is technically based on the well-known M840T 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine producing 750 PS. The engine is mid-mounted and connected to the Monocage II carbon monocoque, ensuring high rigidity with low weight. Together with the adaptive Proactive Chassis Control III suspension system, this architecture is designed for precise feedback and controlled handling. A key distinguishing feature of this special edition is the MSO High Downforce Kit (HDK), used for the first time since the McLaren F1 LM. It increases aerodynamic downforce by around 10% compared to the standard model, contributing to enhanced high-speed stability. Overall, McLaren considers the 750S Le Mans to be one of the lightest and most agile vehicles in its class.

A Winner in Grey and Orange

The exterior of the McLaren 750S Le Mans is defined by functional aerodynamic elements and a clear reference in design to its historic predecessor. Two paint options are available: Le Mans Grey and McLaren Orange. The new MSO High Downforce Kit includes a modified front bumper with an enlarged gloss black carbon splitter, a raised Active Rear Spoiler with integral endplates, and a carbon under-wing panel with gloss black louvres. Further features include 5-spoke Le Mans wheels in Stealth Finish with matching branding, F1 Gold brake calipers with red McLaren logo, and blue and red wheel center caps. A gloss black roof scoop, carbon fenders with black louvres, and a titanium-finish exhaust system complement the technical appearance. A painted Le Mans badge subtly but clearly references the occasion for this special edition. The interior of the 750S Le Mans is available in two design configurations that combine Alcantara and Softgrain leather in carefully coordinated color combinations. The first version features Carbon Black Alcantara, Jet Black leather, and Dove Grey Alcantara; the second replaces the grey tone with McLaren Orange Alcantara. Both configurations emphasize subtle contrasts and premium materials. Refined details include embossed Le Mans brandings on the headrests, matching floor mats, and a dedication plaque inside the cabin referencing the 30th anniversary.

In Honor of the Triple Crown

Clients of the 750S Le Mans have access to a range of exclusive optional features beyond the standard package. These include several visible carbon fiber packages in Gloss Visual Carbon Fibre, highlighting aerodynamically relevant components. Optional carbon elements include the hood air intakes, mirror housings, side and rear fenders, spoiler endplates, front splitter, rear diffuser, and underbody. Individual parts such as the rear wing or louvres are also available separately. The external roof scoop can also be ordered in visible carbon. A further highlight in terms of equipment is the Track Brake Upgrade, which not only enhances braking performance but also includes F1 Gold brake calipers with red McLaren logo. Additionally, an optional plaque in the front luggage compartment commemorates the 1995 Le Mans victory and McLaren’s achievements in the so-called Triple Crown. The latter includes victories at Le Mans, Indianapolis, and Monaco – with McLaren being the only team to have accomplished this feat.
