Two curated design concepts
The latest must-have in the Mercedes-Maybach luxury segment is the SL 680 Monogram Series, whose sporty elegance is intended to embody a new era for the brand. As an open-top two-seater, it combines the characteristic SL silhouette with Maybach's unmistakable claim to luxury. This car promises not only an extraordinary but also a particularly elegant open-air driving experience. The exclusive model is already available in Europe, with other markets to follow. The two curated versions underline the chic character of the vehicle and offer a modern interpretation of the classic two-tone paintwork: The luminous “White Ambience” layout combines classy obsidian black metallic in the upper body section with an elegant MANUFAKTUR opalite white magno in the lower part. The twin in “Red Ambience”, on the other hand, focuses on powerful contrasts with obsidian black metallic and a vibrant MANUFAKTUR garnet red metallic. “We want to surprise, inspire and excite our customers. With the Mercedes Maybach SL Monogram Series, we’re offering them the sportiest and most extravagant model we’ve ever created. It’s a true Maybach for the ultimate in open-air-motoring enjoyment,” explains Daniel Lescow, Head of Mercedes-Maybach, Mercedes-Benz Group AG.

A detailed design for a sophisticated look
The exterior of the SL 680 Monogram Series combines sporty elements with typical Maybach details. The low-set A-shaped radiator grille with vertical chrome slats and integrated lighting is a striking feature. The front is complemented by horizontal air inlets and a wide chrome trim. Rose gold accents in the headlights create subtle visual highlights. The hood features its own unique design and a chrome-plated longitudinal fin as well as the upright Mercedes star. At the rear, the taillights with the Maybach signet, a specifically shaped rear apron and a diffuser are highlighted. Behind the seats, a double scoop reinforces the sporty appearance. The equipment also includes 21-inch forged wheels, which are available in two designs, a 5-hole or multi-spoke version. The fabric soft top in light black is acoustically optimized and discreetly bears the typical Maybach pattern. There is a choice of over 50 additional MANUFAKTUR colors – including shades inspired by precious stones, natural phenomena or historical tones. The hood with an integrated Maybach pattern in graphite grey also provides special individualization. The exclusive finish is created using the PixelPaint process: a high-precision, sustainable painting technology in which paint is applied precisely without spraying. Several layers of clear lacquer and manual sanding give the pattern a noticeable depth effect.

The “Icons of Luxury” collection from MAYBACH matches the vehicle and includes selected accessories such as a leather jacket, sneakers, a scarf, a handbag, and even a dog bag. The design picks up on the materials and colors of the vehicle and transfers them to these luxurious everyday items with “it’s a perfect match”-charisma.

Under the embellished hood
A 4.0-liter V8 biturbo with 430 kW (585 PS) purrs in combination with a smooth-shifting 9G-TRONIC automatic transmission inside the SL 680 Monogram Series. The fully variable 4MATIC+ all-wheel drive, together with an electronically controlled rear-axle locking differential, ensures optimum traction – even in difficult conditions. The standard rear-axle steering improves maneuverability and driving stability in equal measures. The four driving programs – Comfort, Maybach, Sport and Individual – allow the driving experience to be individually adapted. A semi-active suspension with hydraulic roll stabilization ensures smooth handling and compensates for bumps at lightning speed. Softly tuned steel springs, Maybach specific damper hydraulics, a newly developed head bearing and finely adjusted elastokinematics contribute to the high level of suspension comfort, supported by comfort-oriented Pirelli P Zero tires. The SL is also designed for acoustic comfort. Various damping materials such as acoustic fleece, aluminum butyl surfaces and special foams ensure a quiet driving experience. The noise-optimized exhaust system works with recyclable fiberglass inlays and thus reduces even subtle sound peaks when driving into the sunset on the Riviera.
