Porsche Macan GTS: Electrified Performance, Pure Emotion

Published 21 October 2025

A new benchmark for electric driving dynamics

Porsche is expanding its electric SUV line-up with a model that redefines what performance feels like in the digital age, the first all-electric Macan GTS. True to its name, this latest variant embodies the essence of Gran Turismo Sport, combining pure emotion with precise engineering. Positioned as the most driver-focused Macan Electric to date, the GTS combines up to 420 kW of overboost power, 955 Nm of torque, and an electronically controlled rear differential lockwith sports air suspension and a lower ride height, resulting in a level of agility that’s unmistakably Porsche. The GTS lineage carries a legacy that stretches back to the 1963 904 Carrera GTS, and every iteration since has celebrated the perfect fusion of performance and connection. For 2025, that legacy enters a new chapter, powered entirely by electricity, yet retaining every ounce of the tactile thrill that defines a Porsche. The new Macan GTS sprints from 0–100 km/h in just 3.8 seconds, reaches 200 km/h in 13.3 seconds, and continues effortlessly to a top speed of 250 km/h. Despite its formidable output, efficiency remains integral to its character: with a WLTP range of up to 586 kilometres and ultra-fast charging from 10 to 80 per cent in just 21 minutes, the Macan GTS proves that performance and practicality are no longer opposing forces.

Precision at every kilowatt

Beneath its sculpted surfaces lies a new generation of Porsche performance technology. The Macan GTS shares its rear-axle electric motor with the Macan Turbo, the most powerful in the series, measuring 230 millimetres in diameter and driven by a 900-amp silicon carbide pulse inverter for maximum efficiency. Together with the front motor, the system delivers a sustained 380 kW (516 PS), rising to 420 kW (571 PS) with Launch Control. The Sport Chrono Package comes as standard, including a track mode adapted from the Taycan that optimises the car’s thermal management for sustained high-performance driving. This means the GTS can maintain consistent output under heavy load, with battery cooling and power delivery tuned for track use a defining trait in the pursuit of “derating-free” performance. Handling is equally sophisticated. The GTS features Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus (PTV Plus) and a rear-biased 48:52 weight distribution, supported by Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) and air suspension tuned specifically for the model. The setup lowers the ride height by 10 millimetres and enhances responsiveness through recalibrated dampers and anti-roll bars. For those seeking even sharper control, rear-axle steering is available as an option, offering agility at low speeds and stability on the open road. The emotional side of the driving experience hasn’t been neglected either. The Porsche Electric Sport Sound (PESS)gives the GTS its own voice, a deep, evolving soundscape that changes character between Sport and Sport Plus modes, ensuring that the visceral connection between driver and car remains as strong as ever.

The visual language of GTS

The new Macan GTS commands attention with a look that is both athletic and purposeful. Characterised by dark GTS-specific details, it features black accents across the front apron, side blades, mirrors, and rear diffuser. The signature tinted Matrix LED headlights and taillights define its assertive stance, while the outer airblades and contoured body lines communicate strength and precision. A new Sport Design Package, which debuts on the GTS, includes exclusive front and rear aprons with wider side skirts and black trim detailing. The rear section features a pronounced diffuser that anchors the car visually to the road, highlighting its performance intent. Standard 21-inch Macan Design wheels in Anthracite Grey complement the dark aesthetic, while optional 22-inch RS Spyder Design wheels in the same finish add a more dramatic edge. To underline its individuality, Porsche introduces three new exterior shades for the GTS: the classic Crayon, GTS-signature Carmine Red, and the striking new Lugano Blue, available for the first time on a Macan. Beyond these, Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur continues to offer almost limitless personalisation through its Paint to Sample programme, expanding the colour palette to nearly 60 additional tones.

Craftsmanship and Connection

Inside, the Macan GTS combines contemporary design with tactile craftsmanship. The cabin is dominated by extended Race-Tex upholstery, a soft microfibre inspired by motorsport, paired with black smooth leather for contrast. Race-Tex appears on the heated GT Sports steering wheel, dashboard, and seat inserts, while the adaptive 18-way Sports Seatsprovide comfort and precision in equal measure. For the first time, the GTS introduces a colour-coordinated interior package, allowing owners to mirror exterior shades within the cabin. Available in Carmine Red, Slate Grey Neo, or Lugano Blue, the package adds decorative stitching, seat belts, and ‘GTS’ embroidery in the chosen hue. A Carbon Interior Package enhances the theme, bringing lightweight, high-gloss carbon-fibre trim to the steering wheel, dashboard, and door panels, a visual reminder of the car’s sporting DNA. Digital integration completes the experience. The 3D vehicle visualisation in the central display dynamically reflects the car’s actual exterior colour, while the instrument cluster proudly displays the GTS logo. Functions of the Sport Chrono Package, including lap timing, telemetry, and sector analysis, are accessible via a dedicated interface, turning the cockpit into a connected driving command centre. As with the rest of the Macan range, the GTS benefits from Porsche’s latest technology suite, including the Porsche Digital Key, enhanced AI-supported Voice Pilot, advanced parking assist, and in-car gaming capabilities. Practicality, too, has evolved, with a 2,500 kg towing capacity, the GTS retains its dual nature as both a high-performance machine and an everyday companion.
