Rolls-Royce, the British multinational par excellence (since 1906), stands out in the hypercar sector for the elegance, power and refinement of its products. To celebrate the universe and its beauty, the Rolls-Royce Black Badge Ékleipsis was inspired by the solar eclipse and the moment when the moon is obscured, creating moments of light and shadow. An episode visible in South America which led Osgood's company to create only 25 examples of this avant-garde car, which was launched on October 12, 2023, the same day as the long-awaited annular solar eclipse. Keep on reading to know more about the technical, aesthetic details and the main news about the Rolls-Royce Black Badge Ékleipsis limited edition supercar.

Exteriors with copper and gold pigments
The mystery of the solar eclipse is manifested primarily in the sleek exteriors of the contemporary Rolls-Royce Black Badge Ékleipsis thanks to Lyrical Copper polish, a posh finish, which uses a powdered copper pigment that allows it to reveal its true intensity when in touch with natural light, creating reflections rich in nuances. To give a touch of sophistication, the futuristic car has been decorated with tangerine-colored details and the associated profiles of the same color that adorn the large grille and the edges, emphasizing the eternal contrast between light and dark and everything the mystery here arises from this. Tangerine shades, in addition, decorate the inserts under the Pantheon grille and the brake calipers.

Premium Interior
Among the characteristic elements of the iconic Black Badge Ghost Ékleipsis, it is impossible not to notice the illuminated starry roof, called “Starlight Headliner”. This car, indeed, is interactive and capable of simulating the phenomenon of the solar eclipse with approximately 940 artificial stars that make up the luminous corona, surrounded by 192 stars visible only at the end of the total eclipse. An emotional moment for the driver lasting 7 minutes and 31 seconds, corresponding to the maximum duration of the actual solar eclipse. At the end of the show, attention shifts to the dashboard, with 1,846 laser-engraved stars. The passenger compartment, therefore, has more than 200,000 points which required more than 100 hours of work. A detail followed by a watch adorned with a 0.5 carat diamond, symbolizing the “diamond ring” effect of the eclipse, combining technology and luxury in a perfect fusion. Finally, the particularity of the car lies in the exclusivity of the leather seats with a perforated finish and the possibility of customizing them in two colors. This Mandarin leather (typical of luxury cars) is shaded with black and perforated, accustoming the eye to a visual play rich in depth and iridescence.

Price and Availability
As previously said, Tufan Ergin Bilgic (CEO and current director of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Torsten Müller-Ötvös) declared that the Rolls-Royce Black Badge Ekleipsis were sold out even before their launch, communicating: “We are proud to present these cars to 25 of our most important customers around the world. These are the people who inspire the greatness of our brand and who push us to create ever bolder and more detailed expressions of modern luxury.” Despite the lack of availability, curiosity about the price remains. The latter has not yet been revealed, but given the details, it will certainly be higher than $390,000.
