From mountain roads to the racetrack

The Alpine A390 was born from a singular passion: the thrill of pure driving! As a dynamic fastback, the Alpine A390 blends the brand’s iconic heritage and the exhilarating spirit of the legendary A110 with added everyday usability. Described by Alpine as “a race car in a suit”, its true essence lies not in raw performance, but in the visceral connection between driver and road, whether carving through mountain passes or tearing up the racetrack. The Alpine A390 is available in two powerful model variants: the A390 GT with 400 PS offers sporty everyday performance, while the A390 GTS with 470 PS, sprinting from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.9 s, and a top speed of 220 km/h, shows the uncompromisingly dynamic side of the A390. For individualists, the Alpine A390 offers a range of exclusive equipment packages and thoughtfully designed accessories. “The Alpine A390, or how to reinvent the spirit of the A110 in a 5-seat sport fastback,” explained Philippe Krief, CEO of Alpine. “The A390 is the quintessential Alpine, combining sportiness and performance with technology and refinement, all for a unique driving experience that is equally suited to everyday use and more spirited driving. Inspired by French design expertise, its distinctive styling will delight all lovers of beautiful sports cars, just as Alpine has done for more than 70 years. Above all, this all-wheel-drive sport fastback is the finished product from a team of passionate men and women who believe electric sportiness is meaningful and are working hard to do it justice.” As a highlight for the market launch, early birds will receive exclusive access to their A390 with the Premiere Pass two weeks ahead of the official sales start, including a special extra, the Devialet X Alpine headphones, with a preview of the unique Alpine sound.

Human-machine feedback

The Alpine A390 redefines electric driving pleasure with an innovative all-wheel drive system powered by three electric motors: one on the front axle and two on the rear axle. This configuration not only provides outstanding traction, but above all a dynamic driving experience with a rear-wheel focus and maximum agility. The patented Alpine Active Torque Vectoring actively and precisely distributes torque for particularly direct and controllable handling, both in everyday use and on the racetrack. In the GTS version, the A390’s potent drivetrain is paired with a finely tuned high-performance chassis featuring aluminum components, a wide track, a short 2,708 mm wheelbase, and 365 mm brake discs with 6-piston callipers, delivering exceptional braking performance and razor-sharp handling. The AmpR Medium platform with skateboard architecture, specially modified for Alpine, ensuring a low center of gravity and an almost perfectly balanced weight distribution of 49% at the front and 51% at the rear for optimal handling and agility. The result is exceptional handling with precise human-machine feedback. This setup is complemented by short steering ratios, a hydraulically damped suspension, and five selectable driving modes (Save, Normal, Sport, Perso, Track) for a tailored driving experience in any situation. The OV button activates a 10-second boost, while the RCH button regulates recuperation in four stages. Even one-pedal driving is possible.

Modern electric mobility

The driving experience of the Alpine A390 is intense, emotional, and tailored to modern electric mobility – without any obtrusive showmanship. Instead of artificial combustion engine sounds, the A390 offers two authentic soundscapes with “Alpine Drive Sound”: “Sport” for dynamic driving and “Daily” for everyday use, each with its own distinctive, characterful sound. Acoustic feedback also accompanies features such as Overtake Boost and Launch Control, while the legally required AVAS sound ensures pedestrian safety at speeds of up to 30 km/h. Beneath the bodywork lies a newly developed 400 V battery with 89 kWh of usable capacity, manufactured by Verkor and equipped with powerful NMC chemistry. The specially designed cooling system ensures that high performance remains available even during sporty driving. The A390 thus offers a range of up to 555 km (WLTP) with 20-inch wheels (520 km with 21-inch wheels). The A390 is also state-of-the-art when it comes to charging with up to 190 kW DC, it charges from 15 to 80% in less than 25 minutes, and a two-hour highway range can be recharged in less than 20 min. An 11-kW on-board charger is standard, and a 22-kW charger is available as an option. The bidirectional charging capability (V2L & V2G) makes the vehicle even more future-proof. Maximum everyday convenience is guaranteed by Google Maps-based route management, which intelligently links charging planning, battery preconditioning, and consumption data. The My Alpine app enhances this experience with fully connected control of vehicle status, charging, location, and even climate control. With a heat pump, the Mobilize charging network, and ChargePass, electric driving becomes very convenient.

Alpine Vision Blue

The new Alpine A390 impresses at first glance with its sporty fastback design and coupe-like proportions. As a dynamic 5-seater, it combines elegant lines with functional aerodynamics. A striking 17° roof angle and an 8° inclined diffuser – inspired by LMDh racing prototypes – together with the integrated spoiler ensure optimized airflow and increased stability at high speeds. The A390 adds special accents with its characteristic triangular “Cosmic Dust” lighting signature and a projected logo – snowflakes with an integrated Alpine logo – when entering the vehicle. The color palette includes exclusive paint finishes such as the striking Alpine Vision Blue and the matte Grey Tonnerre, which underscore the vehicle's sporty elegance. Inside, modern technology blends with motorsport elegance to create an experience for both driver and passengers. The sporty cockpit is consistently driver-oriented: high-quality materials such as leather, microfiber, and aluminum create a refined ambience, while the blue-coated nappa leather sports steering wheel with RCH rotary switch for recuperation and the red OV button for overboost make a clear performance statement. The central control and display element is a combination of 12.3-inch digital instruments and a 12-inch touchscreen in portrait format. Alpine's proprietary user interface offers four customizable display modes – from reduced basic information to augmented reality for assistance systems. The appearance of the display changes dynamically depending on the selected driving mode. Another unique feature is the Alpine Telemetrics platform. It not only provides live data on performance, agility, and consumption, but also driving coaching, including tips on eye movement, ideal lines, and system use. Gamified challenges invite you to test your driving skills on the road or racetrack – all of which can be evaluated via the Alpine smartphone app with video and data transfer. The A390 is not just an innovative vehicle made in Dieppe, it marks the creation of an entire industrial ecosystem built on sustainability, expertise, and identity, carrying Alpine’s legacy into an electric future. It is produced at the traditional “Manufacture Alpine Dieppe Jean Rédélé” plant, which has been extensively modernized specifically for the future of electric mobility. A new assembly line, an expanded delivery car park, and a logistics warehouse project testify to the high standards of quality and efficiency. Around 10,000 training hours and 80 new hires ensure that the on-site expertise of the now 377 employees meet the highest standards. The electric motors come from the Ampere plant in Cléon, while the battery modules are manufactured by Verkor – with cells sourced from Dunkerque and assembly taking place at the Douai plant. The chassis is produced at the traditional Renault plant in Le Mans, making the A390 a true joint project of the French automotive industry. The design of the A390 pays homage to the iconic A110 and the A390_β show car. Numerous customization options offered through the Atelier Alpine provide room for personal expression and make the A390 especially appealing to new target groups – including commercial customers.
