BMW M2 M xDrive: Intelligent All-Wheel Drive for Maximum Performance
The new BMW M2 with M xDrive marks a significant step forward in the compact BMW M sports car segment. For the first time, the BMW M2 is available with intelligent M xDrive all-wheel drive, combined with the Active M Differential. The system distributes power fully variably between the front and rear axles, optimising traction, directional stability and agility. This is particularly appealing for Swiss drivers, allowing them to enjoy the dynamic character of the BMW M2 throughout the year, including in challenging road and weather conditions.
480 hp from a High-Performance Inline Six-Cylinder Engine
Under the bonnet, the BMW M2 M xDrive remains true to the sporting DNA of BMW M models. Its 3.0-litre inline six-cylinder engine with BMW M TwinPower Turbo technology develops 353 kW, equivalent to 480 hp. Power is transferred to the road through a standard M Steptronic transmission with Drivelogic. Combined with M xDrive and the Active M Differential, the all-wheel-drive BMW M2 accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.7 seconds, 0.3 seconds faster than the rear-wheel-drive version. Top speed is limited to 250 km/h, increasing to 285 km/h with the optional M Driver’s Package.
BMW M Ignite: Motorsport Technology for Greater Efficiency
The new BMW M2 also introduces BMW M Ignite technology, based on an innovative pre-chamber combustion process derived from technologies used in motorsport. According to BMW, this technology significantly reduces fuel consumption under high engine loads while also helping to meet the requirements of the EU7 standard. For customers who enjoy taking their BMW M2 to the track, improved efficiency under demanding driving conditions can provide an additional advantage during track days.
BMW M2 M xDrive: Built for Both Road and Track
With 19-inch M light-alloy wheels at the front and 20-inch wheels at the rear, powerful M Compound brakes with six-piston fixed callipers at the front and a specially tuned chassis, the new BMW M2 with M xDrive clearly underlines its sporting ambitions. Through the M Setup menu, drivers can also configure the behaviour of the M xDrive system according to their preferences. In 2WD mode, with DSC deactivated, power can be sent exclusively to the rear wheels for a particularly pure driving experience. Production of the BMW M2 with M xDrive will begin in August 2026, with market launch scheduled for late summer 2026.
