Audi A2 e-tron: Range, Price, Performance and New Features of the Electric Compact Car

With the new Audi A2 e-tron, Audi introduces a fully electric compact model designed to combine efficiency, everyday practicality and advanced technology. Among its most impressive figures are a range of up to 646 kilometres according to the WLTP cycle and energy consumption as low as 12.8 kWh/100 km in its most efficient configuration. Audi describes the new A2 e-tron as its most efficient model ever. At the same time, the electric compact car offers four power levels ranging from 125 to 240 kW, with battery capacities between 52 and 84 kWh. Production will take place at Audi’s Ingolstadt plant. Orders are scheduled to open in autumn 2026, with the market launch planned for December 2026. In Switzerland, prices start at CHF 37,650. Design and Aerodynamics: Compact, Modern and Efficient Aerodynamics play a central role in the design of the new Audi A2 e-tron. Short overhangs and a 2.77-metre wheelbase help create a spacious interior, while the roofline has been specifically designed to optimise aerodynamic efficiency. Numerous exterior details also contribute to efficiency. These include the electrically shaped, wing-style door handles and other aerodynamically optimised elements. For customers looking for a sportier appearance, Audi offers the S line exterior package. Depending on the configuration, wheels ranging from 18 to 20 inches are available. Charging times for the four versions are: 52 kWh / 125 kW: 100 kW DC, 10–80% in 24 minutes 61 kWh / 140 kW: 105 kW DC, 10–80% in 26 minutes 84 kWh / 170 kW: 183 kW DC, 10–80% in 29 minutes 84 kWh / 240 kW: 183 kW DC, 10–80% in 29 minutes The A2 e-tron therefore combines substantial range with fast-charging capability designed for everyday use. Bidirectional Charging: The Audi A2 e-tron as an Energy Source Another notable feature of the new Audi A2 e-tron is its bidirectional charging capability. The A2 e-tron supports both Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) and Vehicle-to-Home (V2H) technology. V2L allows energy stored in the vehicle’s battery to be used, for example, to power external electrical devices. V2H can also allow the vehicle battery to contribute to powering a home. According to Audi, this function is available in Germany, Austria and Switzerland when combined with a compatible DC wallbox.

Audi offers several chassis configurations to adapt the driving character of the A2 e-tron to different preferences. Depending on the specification, Comfort, Sport and Pilot damping systems are available. On the 240 kW A2 e-tron, adaptive damping is fitted as standard. Audi drive select provides several driving modes, including comfort, balanced, efficiency and dynamic. Four levels of regenerative braking are available. In B mode, the A2 e-tron provides particularly strong deceleration when the accelerator is released, enabling a one-pedal driving experience. Comprehensive Driver Assistance Systems as Standard Audi equips the A2 e-tron with a wide range of modern driver assistance systems. Standard equipment includes, among others, emergency braking assistance, collision avoidance assistance, attention and emergency assistance and adaptive cruise control. Parking aid plus and a rear-view camera are also included as standard. The infotainment system is complemented by the Audi Assistant and artificial-intelligence-based functions. It allows compatible accessories to be securely attached inside the vehicle. Audi has also focused on everyday practicality. In addition to the variable luggage compartment, the cabin provides numerous storage solutions and modern smartphone-related features. The A2 e-tron is therefore designed not only as a zero-emission electric vehicle, but also as a compact car suitable for everyday use. Recycled Materials and Sustainability Audi is also focusing on the use of recycled materials in the new A2 e-tron. According to the manufacturer, more than 300 components use recycled steel, aluminium or plastic. Around 100 components use materials derived from post-consumer recycling processes. Certain seat and Softwrap configurations also use 100% recycled polyester. With these solutions, Audi aims to further increase the use of secondary materials in vehicle production.
